Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What point cloud formats do you accept?

We can review commonly used point cloud files, including E57, RCP/RCS, LAS/LAZ and PTS. Share a sample file so we can confirm compatibility before starting.

What LOD can you deliver from a scan?

The achievable LOD depends on scan quality, coverage and project scope. We review the point cloud first, then agree on the model elements and level of detail to be delivered.

How accurate is the final model?

Accuracy depends on scan precision, point density, registration and visibility of building elements. We agree on a project-specific modelling tolerance before work begins.

Can you model areas missing from the scan?

If an area is not captured clearly, we can review supplementary drawings, photos or measurements. Any elements based on assumptions or secondary information will be identified separately.

What files will I receive when the project is complete?

Deliverables can include a Revit model, drawings and other agreed export formats. We confirm the required files and model scope in the project brief.

What do you need to start a Scan to BIM project?

Send us the point cloud, any available drawings, the areas to be modelled, your required LOD, output format and deadline. We’ll review the files and confirm the scope.
